Our prophets gave the world the vision of peace, we greet one another with wishes of peace, and our prayers conclude with he word peace.

We are gathered this evening in an institution named for two pioneers of peace, Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat, and we share in their vision.

Two and half months ago, I took the oath of office as the Prime Minister of Israel. I pledged to establish a national unity government - and I did. I believed and I still believe hat unity was essential for us now more than ever as we face three immense challenges - the Iranian threat, the economic crisis, and the advancement of peace.

The Iranian threat looms large before us, as was further demonstrated yesterday. The greatest danger confronting Israel, the Middle East, the entire world and human race, is the nexus between radical Islam and nuclear weapons. I discussed this issue with President Obama during my recent visit to Washington, and I will raise it again in my meetings next week with European leaders. For years, I have been working tirelessly to forge an international alliance to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Confronting a global economic crisis, the government acted swiftly to stabilize Israel's economy. We passed a two year budget in the government - and the Knesset will soon approve it.

And the third challenge, so exceedingly important, is the advancement of peace. I also spoke about this with President Obama, and I fully support the idea of a regional peace that he is leading.

I share the President's desire to bring about a new era of reconciliation in our region. To this end, I met with President Mubarak in Egypt, and King Abdullah in Jordan, to elicit the support of these leaders in expanding the circle of peace in our region. I turn to all Arab leaders tonight and I say: "Let us meet. Let us speak of peace and let us make peace." I am ready to meet with you at any time. I am willing to go o Damascus, to Riyadh, to Beirut, to any place -including Jerusalem.

I call on the Arab countries to cooperate with the Palestinians and with us to advance an economic peace. An economic peace is not a substitute for a political peace, but an important element to achieving it. Together, we can undertake projects to overcome the scarcities of our region, like water desalination or to maximize its advantages, like developing solar energy, or laying gas and petroleum lines, and transportation links etween Asia, Africa and Europe.

The economic success of the Gulf states has impressed us all and it has impressed me. I call on the talented entrepreneurs of the Arab world to come and invest here and to assist the Palestinians - and us - in spurring the economy. Together, we can develop industrial areas that will generate thousands of jobs and create tourist sites that will attract millions of visitors eager to walk in the footsteps of history - in Nazareth and in Bethlehem, around the walls of Jericho and the walls of Jerusalem, on the banks of the Sea of Galilee and the baptismal site of the Jordan. There is an enormous potential for archeological tourism, if we can only learn to cooperate and to develop it.

I turn to you, our Palestinian neighbors, led by the Palestinian Authority, and I say: Let's begin negotiations immediately without preconditions.

Israel is obligated by its international commitments and expects all parties to keep their commitments. We want to live with you in peace, as good neighbors. We want our children and your children to never again experience war: that parents, brothers and sisters will never again know the agony of losing loved ones in battle; that our children will be able to dream of better future and realize that dream; and that together we will invest our energies in plowshares and pruning hooks, not swords and spears.

I know the face of war. I have experienced battle. I lost close friends, I lost a brother. I have seen the pain of bereaved families. I do not want war. No one in Israel wants war.

If we join hands and work together for peace, there is no limit to the development and prosperity we can achieve for our two peoples - in the economy, agriculture, trade, tourism and education - most importantly, in providing our youth a better world in which to live, a life full of tranquility, creativity, opportunity and hope.
If the advantages of peace are so evident, we must ask ourselves why peace remains so remote, even as our hand remains outstretched to peace? Why has this conflict continued for more than sixty years?

In order to bring an end to the conflict, we must give an honest and forthright answer to the question: what is the root of the conflict?

In his speech to the first Zionist conference in Basel, the founder of the Zionist movement, Theodore Herzl, said about the Jewish national home, "This idea is so big that we must speak of it only in the simplest terms." Today, I will speak about the immense challenge of peace in the simplest words possible.

Even as we look toward the horizon, we must be firmly connected to reality, to the truth. And the simple truth is that the root of the conflict was, and remains, the refusal to recognize the right of the Jewish people to a state of their own, in their historic homeland.

In 1947, when the United Nations proposed the partition plan of a Jewish state and an Arab state, the entire Arab world rejected the resolution. The Jewish community, by contrast, welcomed it by dancing and rejoicing. The Arabs rejected any Jewish state, in any borders.

Those who think that the continued enmity toward Israel is a product of our presence in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, are confusing cause and consequence. The attacks against us began in the 1920s, escalated into a comprehensive attack in 1948 with the declaration of Israel's independence, continued with the fedayeen attacks in the 1950s, and climaxed in 1967, on the eve of he Six-Day War, in an attempt to tighten a noose around the neck of the State of Israel. All this occurred during the fifty years before a single Israeli soldier ever set foot in Judea and Samaria.

Fortunately, Egypt and Jordan left this circle of enmity. The signing of peace treaties have brought about an end to their claims against Israel, an end to the conflict. But to our regret, this is not the case with the Palestinians. The closer we get to an agreement with them, the further they retreat and raise demands that are inconsistent with a true desire to end the onflict.

Many good people have told us that withdrawal from territories is the key to peace with the Palestinians. Well, we withdrew. But the fact is that every withdrawal was met with massive waves of terror, by suicide bombers and thousands of missiles.

We tried to withdraw with an agreement and without an agreement. We tried a partial withdrawal and a full withdrawal. In 2000 and again last year, Israel proposed an almost total withdrawal in exchange for an end to the conflict, and twice our offers were rejected. We evacuated every last inch of the Gaza strip, we uprooted tens of settlements and evicted Israelis from heir homes, and in response, we received a hail of missiles on our cities, towns and children.

The claim that territorial withdrawals will bring peace with the Palestinians, or at least advance peace, has up till now not stood the test of reality. In addition to his, Hamas in the south, like Hizbullah in the north, repeatedly proclaims their commitment to "liberate" the Israeli cities of Ashkelon, Beersheba, Acre and Haifa. Territorial withdrawals have not lessened the hatred, and to our regret, Palestinian moderates are not yet ready to say the simple words: Israel is the nation-state of the Jewish people, and it will stay that way.

Achieving peace will require courage and candor from both sides, and not only from the Israeli side. The Palestinian leadership must arise and say: "Enough of this conflict. We recognize the right of the Jewish people to a state of their own in this land, and we are prepared to live beside you in true peace."

I am yearning for that moment, for when Palestinian leaders say those words to our people and to their people, then a path will be opened to resolving all the problems between our peoples, no matter how complex they may be. Therefore, a fundamental prerequisite for ending the conflict is a public, binding and unequivocal Palestinian recognition of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people. To vest this declaration with practical meaning, there must also be a clear understanding that the Palestinian refugee problem will be resolved outside Israel's borders. For it is clear that any demand for resettling Palestinian refugees within Israel undermines Israel's continued existence as the state of the Jewish people.

The Palestinian refugee problem must be solved, and it can be solved, as we ourselves proved in a similar situation. Tiny Israel successfully absorbed tens of thousands of Jewish refugees who left their homes and belongings in Arab countries. Therefore, justice and logic demand that the Palestinian refugee problem be solved outside Israel's borders. On his point, there is a broad national consensus. I believe that with goodwill and international investment, this humanitarian problem can be permanently resolved.

So far I have spoken about the need for Palestinians to recognize our rights. In a moment, I will speak openly about our need to recognize their rights. But let me first say that the connection between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel has lasted for more than 3,500 years. Judea and Samaria, the places where Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, David and Solomon, and Isaiah and Jeremiah lived, are not alien to us. This is the land f our forefathers.

The right of the Jewish people to a state in the land of Israel does not derive from the catastrophes that have plagued our people. True, for 2,000 years the Jewish people suffered expulsions, pogroms, blood libels, and massacres which culminated in a Holocaust - a suffering which has no parallel in human history. There are those who say that if the Holocaust had not occurred, the state of Israel would never have been established. But I say that if the state of Israel would have been established earlier, the Holocaust would not have occured.

This tragic history of powerlessness explains why the Jewish people need a sovereign power of self-defense. But our right to build our sovereign state here, in the land of Israel, rises from one simple fact: this is the homeland of the Jewish people, this is where our identity was forged.

As Israel's first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, proclaimed in Israel's Declaration of Independence: quote; The Jewish people arose in the land of Israel and it was here that its spiritual, religious and political character was shaped. Here they attained their sovereignty, and here they bequeathed to the world their national and cultural treasures, and the most eternal of Books."

But we must also tell the truth in ts entirety: within this homeland lives a large Palestinian community. We do not want to rule over them, we do not want to govern their lives, we do not want to impose either our flag or our culture on them.

In my vision of peace, in this small land of ours, two peoples live freely, side-by-side, in amity and mutual respect. Each will have its own flag, its own national anthem, its own government. Neither will threaten the security or survival of the other. These two realities - our connection to the land of Israel, and the Palestinian population living within it - have created deep divisions in Israeli society. But the truth is that we have much more that unites us than divides us.

I have come tonight to give expression to that unity, and to the principles of peace and security on which there is broad agreement within Israeli society. These are the principles that guide our policy. This policy must take into account the international situation that has recently developed. We must recognize this reality and at the same time stand firmly on those principles essential for Israel.

I have already stressed the first principle - recognition. Palestinians must clearly and unambiguously recognize Israel as the state of the Jewish people.

The second principle is: demilitarization. The territory under Palestinian control must be demilitarized with ironclad security provisions for Israel. Without these two conditions, there is a real danger that an armed Palestinian state would emerge that would become another terrorist base against the Jewish state, such as the one in Gaza. We don't want Kassam rockets on Petach Tikva, Grad rockets on Tel Aviv, or missiles on Ben-Gurion airport. We want peace.

In order to achieve peace, we must ensure that Palestinians will not be able to import missiles into their territory, to field an army, to close their airspace to us, or to make acts with the likes of Hizbullah and Iran. On this point as well, there is wide consensus within Israel. It is impossible to expect us to agree in advance to the principle of a Palestinian state without assurances that this state will be demilitarized. On a matter so critical to the existence of Israel, we must first have our security needs addressed.

Therefore, today we ask our friends in the international community, led by the United States, for what is critical to the security of Israel: clear commitments that in a future peace agreement, the territory controlled by the Palestinians will be demilitarized: namely, without an army, without control of its airspace, and with effective security measures to prevent weapons smuggling into the territory - real monitoring, and not what ccurs in Gaza today. And obviously, the Palestinians will not be able to forge military pacts. Without this, sooner or later, these territories will become another Hamastan. And that we cannot accept.

I told President Obama when I was in Washington that if we could agree on the substance, then the terminology would not pose a problem. And here is the substance that I now state clearly.

If we receive this guarantee regarding demilitirization and Israel's security needs, and if the Palestinians recognize Israel as the State of the Jewish people, then we ill be ready in a future peace agreement to reach a solution where a demilitarized Palestinian state exists alongside the Jewish state.

Regarding the remaining important issues that will be discussed as part of the final settlement, my positions are known: Israel needs defensible borders, and Jerusalem must remain the united capital of Israel with continued religious freedom for all faiths. The territorial question will be discussed as part of the final peace agreement. In the meantime, we have no intention of building new settlements or of expropriating additional land for existing settlements.

But there is a need to enable the residents to live normal lives, to allow mothers and fathers to raise their children like families elsewhere. The settlers are neither the enemies of the people nor the enemies of peace. Rather, they are an integral part of our people, a principled, pioneering and Zionist public.

Unity among us is essential and will help us achieve reconciliation with our neighbors. That reconciliation must already begin by altering existing realities. I believe that strong Palestinian economy will strengthen peace.

If the Palestinians turn toward peace - in fighting terror, in strengthening governance and the rule of law, in educating their children for peace and in stopping incitement against Israel - we will do our part in making every effort to facilitate freedom of movement and access, and to enable them to develop their economy. ll of this will help us advance a peace treaty between us.

Above all else, the Palestinians must decide between the path of peace and the path of Hamas. The Palestinian Authority will have to establish the rule of law in Gaza and overcome Hamas. Israel will not sit at the negotiating table with terrorists who seek their destruction. Hamas will not even allow the Red Cross to visit our kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit, ho has spent three years in captivity, cut off from his parents, his family and his people. We are committed to bringing him home, healthy and safe.

With a Palestinian leadership committed to peace, with the active participation of the Arab world, and the support of the United States and the international community, there is no reason why we cannot achieve a breakthrough to peace.

Our people have already proven that we can do the impossible. Over the past 61 years, while constantly defending our existence, we have performed wonders. Our microchips are powering the world's computers. Our medicines are treating diseases once considered incurable. Our drip irrigation is bringing arid lands back to life cross the globe. And Israeli scientists are expanding the boundaries of human knowledge. If only our neighbors would respond to our call - peace too will be in our reach.

I call on the leaders of the Arab orld and on the Palestinian leadership, let us continue together on the path of Menahem Begin and Anwar Sadat, Yitzhak Rabin and King Hussein. Let us realize the vision of the prophet Isaiah, who in Jerusalem 2,700 years ago said: "nations shall not lift up sword against nation, and they shall learn war no more."

With God's help, we will know no more war. We will know peace.

When Will This Ever Be Over?

I don't know about you, but to me it will be SO wonderful when they've finished bombarding us with coverage of the election campaigns. Once the elections take place in November, it will have been TWO YEARS that it's been in our face daily. I'm so sick of it that I stopped watching and reading about it a long time ago. When the time comes, I'll find out who people I respect are going to vote for and I'll do likewise. It's been just overwhelming, and I'm up to here sick of it. I bet if they did a poll asking about THIS, they'd be surprised to find that most of America feels the same way.

My take on the issue is this. God has given us eight years under a president who is a believer, regardless what mistakes he may or may not have made in your, mine, our and their opinions. At least this man has stood behind the morality issues, refusing to back embryonic stem-cell research, as well as most of the other issues which clearly oppose the Word of God.

However, in the meantime this country has allowed the removal of every thought or mention of God, the Bible, or anything else Judeo-Christian, from our schools, our courts, and most of our public places. God has faithfully warned us, and warned us again, but to no avail. I believe that God, therefore, is going to let America have its way and step out of our society. He will let us see what happens when He is removed. It won't be pretty. In fact, it will be a shocking wake-up call to many.

How quickly we forget that we are the most advanced and most prosperous country not only on the face of the earth but of all time as well. We started out as a country that based its entire foundation on the Judeo-Christian principles of the Bible. Almost every one of our ivy-league colleges were begun as seminaries. And many of the founding fathers of our country were ordained ministers.

In contrast, I present to you the country of Haiti. Three times, the government of Haiti has officially dedicated the country to Satan. This is a fact, born out by public historical record. What a difference. Take a look. Haiti is one of the most oppressed and poverty-stricken places on earth.

What about this picture do the American people not see?

When the judgment comes, which God has been warning about for several years, let no one be surprised. I'm surprised it hasn't come already. But it will. "This was not about proselytizing anyone," continued Senior Legal Counsel David Cortman. "It was about letting students tell the class about what things are important to them, and the Bible is important to this student." If it had been about Islam, it would have been not only accepted but featured! -Paula

The classroom assignment was called "All About Me," and was intended to provide an opportunity for children to "identify individual interests and learn about others," the ADF said. The activity at the school – which lists an unspecified "religious holiday" in September but a "winter recess" in December ( ! ! ! ) – allowed students to talk about their interests through the use of their favorite stuffed animals, posters, snacks and games and books.

When his turn came, student Wesley Busch asked his mother to read from his favorite book, the Bible. But the ADF said school officials told Donna Kay Busch that the school viewed the Bible as "proselytizing" and as "promoting a specific religious point of view," banning it from the class.

The Bible reading Wesley requested was rejected because the Bible promotes "a specific religious point of view" and the teacher instead suggested Wesley's mother "read a book 'about witches and Halloween instead."

"Indeed, the Bible reading at issue in this case is Wesley's speech: his mother came to the class at his request, to read his book selection, so that he could share himself with his classmates," the ADF said.

It's politically correct to believe in the theory of evolution, and mandatory to teach it in our schools. But what if it isn't true? What if the very OPPOSITE is true?

After hearing the buzz in the hallway, I turned and listened. Students were warning us to consider choosing a different class, because the professor of this college biology class was overly demanding and flunked about a third of his students each year. "Oh well," I thought, I'm here now and I'm just going to sign up."

The students were right -- this was an extremely difficult class and the professor demanded a lot. What had started out as a challenge, now turned into a fear that I'd not make it.

One morning, an odd thing happened when I asked the professor a question. We were studying the mutation of genes, and were taking a look at several afflictions caused by mutations. The most well-known of course was Down Syndrome, but there were many others too, for example Tay-Sachs disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Hemophilia, and many, many others.

I raised my hand and asked the professor, "do mutations ever benefit the organism?" The response of the professor was very peculiar. He squirmed and began straightening the papers on his desk, and came up with an answer that was very evasive. I supposed that he hadn't understood my question, so I asked it again, rephrasing it so he'd understand what I was asking. But again, he seemed very uncomfortable, and he gave a light-weight and evasive answer. After the third time, I let it go.

I didn't recognize it at the time, but my question was having a profound effect on the professor in biology class. It would be years before I'd realize the import of the question, and understand why the professor was so bothered by it, and answered me so evasively. The answer to my question, of course, is no. Genetic mutations always cause illness or defect in the organism. And that completely disproves the theory of evolution. The theory of evolution wants you to believe that from a primitive state, organisms evolved over time to the superior state of the human condition of today. Not only is that untrue, the truth is the very opposite.

But the greater revelation is that the downward spiral affects not only living organisms, but all of life as we know it. Lets take a look at how, in one generation, not only organisms but society as well has actually "devolved."

In contrasting life today against life as I knew it only a generation ago as a child in the 1950's, it's so obvious that you could miss it if you weren't watching it closely. It takes place little by little, almost imperceptibly, and because it's so unnoticeable, we are systematically desensitized to the point that we do not perceive what is happening at all.

Little things at first. In the 1950's, for example, girls and women wore dresses. In fact, on winter mornings when girls needed protection against the cold as they walked to school, they wore snowpants -- yes, pants -- but UNDER their dresses. Immediately upon arriving in the school building, the snowpants came off and were hung on hooks with their coats. We are now living in the first generation where women wear pants almost exclusively. Not a sin. But part of an overall picture.

In the 50's, women went into a church always with their heads covered, in respect to the idea of being in a holy place. If you had told anyone then that the day would come when people would go to church in short-shorts, no one but no one would have believed that evenly remotely possible.

I have a memory from those days -- one morning I was sitting in church, and a man with longish hair came in. After noticing that, my imagination took me away and I began picturing the women in the church with hair short like men's, and then pictured the men with hair long like women's, and the picture in my mind was so funny that I chuckled out-loud, evoking a very unpleased glance from my father. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought it would actually come to that - men with long hair and women with short hair. I was in for quite a surprise, and that was what started an awareness within me that things do not remain static, but slowly, imperceptibly, there is a force moving society along not upward, but in fact, downward.

In the 50's, children ALWAYS addressed men as "Mr. so-and-so," and women as "Mrs. so-and-so." It was unheard of that a child would address an adult by his or her first name. But in the 60's, the process of liberation was profligate. Society chose to free our children from "the rod" which the Bible says is to be used on the defiant child, and look at the results. Classrooms are in disarray and confusion, children free to "express themselves" any way they choose. Not only do children defy teachers, but it's gotten to the point where we even have to have security officers in school lest our children kill us.

In the 50's and 60's sexuality was private. In fact, when the sitcom, "I Love Lucy," became part of everyone's tv enjoyment, there was a rule on the set that any bedroom scene had to feature two beds, and the man and woman fully clothed. The very idea of a man and woman seen together in one bed would have been unthinkable. But today our children's senses are constantly defiled with images of stark sexuality before them. How do you answer a child who wants to know what "erectile dysfunction" is? In this day and age, they could probably tell YOU!

In the 50's, the most horrible thing a girl could do was to become pregnant, which was a terrible humiliation to a family. If a girl did become pregnant, she was whisked away to a "home," where she would have her baby out of the public eye. Homosexuality was never spoken of except in hush-hush whispers, and was considered such an awful thing that anyone so inclined kept it to himself or herself. Today, only a short generation later, not only is the public depiction of sexuality not a big thing anymore, but many of those so-inclined to homosexuality parade it in the streets, on tv, in magazines, anywhere where they can celebrate their freedom and entice others to join them. Scenes from televisions are so vile, that there's just no protecting our children anymore, they've seen it all -and at a very young age. A child today would laugh at the idea that even a heterosexual couple living together are living "in sin." Human sexuality has gone the gamut from private to public without shame. Girls think nothing of wearing clothes that are so tight that it's an effort to get them on. On the beach they expose themselves in what is no more than bra and panties, or less. The change that has taken place in one generation is nothing less than stark-raving madness. Some consider it "liberalizing," and most are so desensitized that they don't think anything of it at all, and there are very few who recognize the pattern as the total devolution of the human experience in a single generation.

From the great concerns, down to the littlest of things; for example, in the 50's, people took pride in penmanship. Throughout the history of our country, public documents with hand-written signatures showed a classiness in the way one's writing is displayed. Example, the Declaration of Independence is a document with many signatures, all hand-written beautifully. Each name is completely identifiable. Nowadays, signatures are little more than a line with bumps, sometimes with a flourish at the end.

Can anyone today say with a straight face that society has been developing positively? In the Bible's Book of Daniel, Daniel is given a look at the last generation. He is told, "seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." A sign signaling the last generation was to be that knowledge would increase. Well that certainly describes the age we live in today. A hundred years ago people were still riding horses and using oil lamps. But has the great increase in knowledge produced a society improved?

I suggest the very opposite is the case. As we've patted ourselves on the back for being a generation more advanced and "liberated" than any other in the history of mankind, we choose to ignore the downward slide that should be screaming at us, begging for our attention. Humanity today surely is "running to and fro," - we've been to the moon and back. Knowledge indeed has increased --computers and ipods, Game Boys and cell phones - these are the things we proudly display as the trophies of our great progression. Now, the things that are hush-hush are things like suicides, Aids, drug-sickened zombies, single mothers in fatherless homes, little children aborted at will on the altar of convenience, and all manner of sin paraded in defiance before God.

"Tolerance" demands that we allow foreign gods into our culture, but hide our own God from the public square. There has never been a generation so violent, so depraved, while so "liberated" as the one before us today. In many places, to go out of your home is to risk your life. No longer do we live in houses with unlocked doors, but we invest in expensive security systems to protect our valuable possessions. No longer do we dress up in our best to board an airplane, but we line up in front of deputies who scan our bodies and luggage lest we fly in a plane that might be blown up.

And in our schools all our children are taught the "theory of evolution." Evolution, the sacred cow of modern thought.

Evolution?

I don't think so. Instead of animals evolving into men, it would make more sense to teach that men are devolving into animals. That's what the evidence suggests.

When Jesus was asked what the signs of his coming would be, the very first thing he answered was a serious warning to "take heed that you not be deceived." Truly, there has never been such a deceived generation as this one - - thinking we're evolving when in all actuality society is declining rapidly toward degeneracy. Sodom and Gomorrha, in the end, were destroyed.

May God help us.

This article was published at Ezine:
http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=P_Maillet

Will We Win The War On Terror?

Will we win the "war on terror"?
Will diplomacy eventually pacify the terrorist ideology?
If we take out Iran's nuclear facilities, will that stop this?
Does the Bible have anything to say about nuclear war?
If it does, would you believe it?
If you believe it, do you believe it will be a long time in the future?

Anyone who thinks there's a chance of winning the war on terror is sadly deceived.

Yes, the Bible does have something to say about it. It predicts a time of nuclear holocaust and oblivion.

If you're a Christian, (we'll get to the Jewish Scriptures in just a minute) (if you're neither, well remember the point, I'm talking about the Bible) ---look into Mathew, the 24th chapter, in which Jesus is speaking about the time of the end. He said there would be a time of tribulation greater than anything the world has ever experienced to that time, or will thereafter.

Tribulation greater than anything the world has ever experienced????
Worse than the flood of Noah????
Worse than the Holocaust????
What is he speaking of????

Well -- he gave another clue. He said that if those days hadn't been shortened, no flesh would survive. Mathew 24:21-22

No flesh would survive? What could possibly be so horrendous that it has the ability to destroy all life on planet earth? Well, it could be a world-wide plague. Or an asteroid hitting the earth. So why think it's a nuclear holocaust? Because there are other passages that speak of it and give more information.

The book of the Jewish prophet Zechariah (in the Bible) speaks of the time of the coming of the Messiah. Consider what's happening just prior to that time. It's a time when all the nations come against Jerusalem.

Jerusalem??? Is that city in the news in our days????

And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, and their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.
Zechariah 14:12

Their flesh will melt off their bodies while they're standing on their feet????

Their tongues will dissolve in their sockets????

This isn't a plague of sickness. This is something that happens suddenly. Something that takes them by surprise while they're standing on their feet. This is an accurate description of the results of a neutron bomb. This is nuclear war.

The survivors will say afterwards, "why didn't we get it when the entire generation was characterized by the 'nuclear arms race'? Why didn't we get it when the buildup of armaments was reported in our newspapers and on our tv's continuously throughout our generation? We got so used to hearing it that we became desensitized to it, and to all the other things happening right before our eyes."

There's another clue, given by the Jewish prophet Ezekiel. He is speaking of the time AFTER this holocaust, and he describes the cleanup. People will know that when they find a bone or body part, they are not to touch it, they are to put a marker by it, and then professionals will come and dispose of it. Why? Think "radioactivity."

For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land… They will set apart men regularly employed, with the help of a search party, to pass through the land and bury those bodies remaining on the ground, in order to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search. The search party will pass through the land, and whenever anyone sees a man's bone, he shall set up a marker by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon Gog.
Ezekiel 39:12-15

What else do we know about this conflagration to come?

Well …we know who the players are. Consider what the Jewish prophet Ezekiel tells us about them:

Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, "Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal… Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them… Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops many people are with you. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword (the Jews) and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations…"
Ezekiel 38

Who are these invading nations? They were named by the names they went by in the time of the prophets. But history has traced them and here are the names of those areas now:

Ancient Name .....Modern Name
Gog-Magog.........Russia
Rosh.................Russia
Meshech............Moscow
Tubal................Tobolsk, also in Russia
Persia...............Iran
Cush/Put...........North African nations
Gomer..............Eastern Europe
Togarmah..........Turkey

The nations mentioned here thousands of years ago are the very nations now in our daily news. Iran and Russia are the leaders of this confederacy. What is true of Iran and Russia? Nuclear weapons. What is the world shouting at them even right now, this very week? That their nuclear weapons development must be stopped. Will it be stopped? No. According to the Biblical prophecies, they are going to precipitate a time of tribulation greater than anything the world has ever known. A time that will so pollute the earth, that afterwards it will take specialists just to go near bodies and body parts ---just to collect the bones from which their flesh melted off as they stood on their feet.

Is the "war on terror" going to succeed?

No.

Is there anything we can do to stop it?

No.

The Biblical prophecies WILL come to pass. And the scenario is right now set up exactly according to Israel's ancient prophets.

When?

Jesus said to watch for the generation that sees the return of the Jews to Israel, the "budding of the fig tree," the Biblical symbol of Israel, and that has happened in this century. He said it would be a generation of wars, rumors of wars, great earthquakes, famines, and pestilence (disease.) All coming together at the same time, like birth pains.

Is anything missing out of that list? No. It's all in front of us and on our tv screens daily. It's all there. It could begin tomorrow.

Why am I telling you this? To scare you?

If only! If only you were scared enough to realize that you might not have a future. If you knew that for certain, what do you think your reaction would be? Hopefully for many of you, it will be the realization that our life here is short, it will soon be over one way or another, and there is nothing, NOTHING as important as finding out what God has said about your eternity, because that's where you're going to spend most of your existence. A few years here. Maybe 70? More or less, and possibly coming to an end shortly.

Eternity is a very long time to risk spending it in misery.

Do you think you're going to heaven? If so, on what basis do you think that? Hoping they grade on the curve? I assure you, the Word of God makes it very clear that they do NOT grade on the curve. If you're thinking you were more good than bad, so you're ok, you've been sadly deceived. "ALL we like sheep have gone astray…" "There is none righteous, no not one."

I'm not going to give you the answer, because I want you to think about it. I mean, really think about it. Pray about it, pray as you've never prayed before. You're considering a very, very long part of your future.

If you want to discuss this further, write me: pmaillet@gwi.net

I'm asking you to print this out and leave copies in the lunch room at work, in the doctor's office, anywhere people might see it and consider the most important question of their lives.

Send people the link to this site: http://issues-blog.blogspot.com/

If you're going to just continue to assume you're good enough for heaven, then I'll quote Jesus:

"seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear …for the heart of this people has grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their heart…Matthew 13:13-15

Separation Between Church And State?

Click on each picture
then hover over the bottom right
of the picture until the X appears.
Then click on that to enlarge.

<img style="DISPLAY: block;
